Located in the heart of Provence, the Alpilles stretches between the Rhône and Durance rivers.
Vines and olive trees been cultivated here for centuries, sculpting the beautiful scenery of this area.
In between Orgon and Eygalières, the road will drive through an authentic Provencal landscape to the Chapelle Saint Sixte a jewel of Provencal architecture.
A must visit is also the small town of “Saint Rémy” with a typical old centre and its extraordinary cultural patrimony including the the antique site of “Glanum”.
From Saint Rémy you can travel on to the incredible village of Baux de Provence via a small road surrounded by pine forests and olive groves.“Les Baux de Provence” is situated around the ruins of an old castle enom where you will have the best possible view of the Alpilles.
Following the road you pass by the village of Fontvieille and it´s famous oil press named after Alphonse Daudet, the famed French writer.
You also have to stop in the small village of Paradou to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere. To finish your tour of Alpilles we encourage you to discover the villages of Maussanne and Mouriès with the symbolic Provencal architecture.
